Two Point Perspective & Fauvism
Project Guidelines:
Draw the exterior of a city block or equivalent structures using two-point perspective.
Be creative and include a point of interest.
Include many items in your drawing, overlapping is a must.
Use rules to get started but also use free-hand drawing.
Fauvist inspired color - Use bright, arbitrary colors
Expressive brushstrokes
Add texture and shading to all objects.

Basics of Two-Point Perspective
Two point perspective uses two vanishing points to draw an object. These vanishing points are placed along the horizon. Two-point perspective can be used to draw the same objects as one-point perspective except they are rotated: looking at the corner of a house, or looking at two forked roads shrink into the distance, for example.
The horizon line represents eye level, therefore sometimes you are looking up at an object and sometimes looking down at it.
Vanishing points are dots on the horizon line where parallel lines seem to converge and disappear.
Convergence Lines (also called orthagonals) are lines that converge at the vanishing point. These are any lines that are moving away from the viewer at an angle parallel to the direction that the viewer is looking.
When there are two vanishing points, all convergence lines appear to recede to one of those points.

How to draw a box in two-point perspective
Step 1: Draw horizon line
Step 2: Create two vanishing points (far apart)
Step 3: Draw vertical line (edge of box)
Step 4: Draw lines to both vanishing points
Step 5: Draw the back edge of the box (parallel vertical lines)
Step 6: Draw the back of the box by going from the corner to the opposite vanishing point

Rubric
2 Point Perspective City Drawing Rubric
A:
All items drawn in correct perspective
Strong Fauvist influence: bold color, expressive brushstrokes
Consistent light source shown on all items
Shadows are present on all objects and well blended
Very neatly drawn: ruler used for perspective lines, guide lines fully erased
High level of creativity
B:
Most items drawn in correct perspective
Some Fauvist influence: bold color, expressive brushstrokes
Fairly consistent light source shown on almost all items
Shadows present on most objects. Blended shadows are attempted.
Neatly drawn: ruler used, guide lines erased
Some creativity shown
C:
Some items drawn in correct perspective
Some Fauvist influence: bold color, expressive brushstrokes
Light source is consistent, but not on all items. Or, light source is inconsistent
Shadows are present on some objects. Shadows are not blended.
Drawing somewhat messy: limited use of ruler and some guide lines visible
Limited creativity shown
D:
Few items drawn in correct perspective
No Fauvist influence shown
No light source shown, not consistent or on few items
Shadows on few objects. Shadows are not blended.
Messy: Ruler not used or guide lines visible
Little creativity shown
F:
Very few items drawn in correct perspective
No Fauvist influence shown
No light source
No shading or blending.
Very messy, no ruler used, guide lines visible
Little creativity shown
